The protective spirit of the Bodo, the holy beast, is weakening, resulting in catastrophe in the various zones. That sounds very much like what happened with the other three destroyed statues to the Bodo protective spirits.
The Balu haven't yet uncovered the link between the power of the holy beast and the statue. I've taken a good look at that statue of Tanzila. It certainly isn't as badly damaged as the other statues, but it still exhibits some small fractures. If I'm right, the cracks are getting larger.
