But after the Age of Punishment, all civilization on the continent was virtually destroyed, and even the land itself underwent enormous change. Mystical energies were scattered throughout the land, and strange monsters left behind after the many wars rampaged through the wilderness. So the people of [ZONE_KOLYDIA\|Kolydia] name the continent "Candara," which means "the forgotten continent" in the old tongue.\n\nIn the culture of every country, Candara was usually known as the Lands that one must not go near. Only recently, after the prevalence of mechanical civilization brought about the Epoch of Discovery, did rumors of Candara's many Ancient Kingdom relics reach [ZONE_KOLYDIA\|Kolydia]. The most powerful mage organization at the time, the Eye of Wisdom, set out to occupy Candara on a large scale - and only with this did the "forgotten continent" begin to gradually lift its mysterious veil.\nIf you are interested, most of the research on this subject is stored in the Eye of Wisdom library in [ZONE_VARANAS\|Varanas].
