SC_112311_02	Según cuenta la leyenda, los bárbaros de Candara tenían una vida muy dura. Sobre todo, el caer el invierno, cuando las tierras estaban heladas y no tenían nada que comer. Pasaban hambre y mucho frío.\n\nPero durante las épocas más cálidas, disfrutaban de grandes cosechas y celebraban animados banquetes. Todos acudían vestidos con sus mejores galas, para comer, beber, divertirse y bailar toda la noche. La estación cálida siempre era demasiado corta, por lo que todos procuraban disfrutarla al máximo.\n\nCon el tiempo, sus técnicas agrícolas mejoraron, y dejaron de pasar hambre durante los largos meses de invierno. Sin embargo, mantuvieron la costumbre de celebrar banquetes tras la cosecha.\n\nCuando llegaron las gentes de Kolydia, participaron en estas costumbres sin conocer siquiera sus orígenes. Al medida que la ciudad de Varanas se expandía, también lo hacían las brechas sociales, y la clase alta dejó de celebrar esta fiesta junto con la gente corriente.\n\nEl Consejo de Varanas le ha confiado a los Talleres de Phirius la creación de exquisitos atuendos, y también encontrar una ubicación adecuada para el festival. Legend has it that the barbarians of Candara led a very hard life, especially when winter came and the land was frozen -- they were often left starving in the bitter cold. \n\nBut during the periods of warmer weather that followed, they would enjoy a rich harvest and throw great feasts. Everyone came dressed in their best finery to eat, drink and make merry and dance the summer nights away. The warm weather was always too brief, and they tried to make the most of it.\n\nIn time their agricultural skills improved, and they no longer went hungry during the long winter months, but kept up the custom of holding harvest feasts.\n\nWhen migrants from Kolydia came, they partook of these customs without knowing of their significance. As the city of Varanas grew and expanded, so did social divisions and the wealthy upper classes eventually stopped celebrating this festival with the common folk.\n\nThe Varanas City Council has commissioned the Phirius Workshops to create exquisite costumes and find a suitably enchanting location for the festival. They hope that the Masked Ball will bring people of different social backgrounds together in a magnificent celebration.
