Heck, I even look down on myself for doing it. I truly hate this job. What's more, corpses that come from far off places still need to be processed. If not, I won't get paid.\n\nA few days ago I just so happened to run into an undertaker. He had a worker with him. Thing is, this worker was almost the spitting image of a Rhino corpse that I myself had collected. The corpse in question was heavy as sin and reeked like a century of decay, so needless to say it left quite the impression on me. Regardless, I swallowed my shock and asked the Rhino if he had somehow survived or was brought back to life by people in the castle. He completely ignored me. The undertaker then turned to me and said that Rhinos probably all look the same to me and that I'd made a mistake...but...\n\nForget it, something tells me the less I know about this the better. Dunno why, but I get the feeling the more I ask the more trouble is gonna come down on me. |

There's just no dignity in it. It really hits you when you see the mortally wounded who are wavering at death's door... and you're unable to help them... And you know that you're making a living off of their fading life. \n\nIf only the river water would go back to normal so I could just be an over-taxed farmer. While the pay is nowhere near that of collecting corpses, say nothing of how much harder it is... I truly would rather spend my days pulling weeds and turning over the earth. \n\n...Didn't I tell you to stop bugging me? Why do you persist with your blabbermouthing? |
